Thanks Mike for a brilliant Lundy trip.
You arranged warm sunshine for us, a calm trip out from Lee Bay, arriving at the island 4 1/2 hours later, spotting a bunch of dolphins on the way. More sunshine while we climbed the Devil's Slide and Albion. And you even arranged a slightly more challenging trip back, into a head wind and choppy seas, for added interest, and a 6 hour return trip! Your cheers confidence made a great trip close to perfect. Thanks again, Steve

Thanks Mike for 2 more great Uffculme School trips. Firstly, 2 days canoeing down the River Wye with fourteen 16 year olds (and a 7 year old), as ever a superb trip with lovely scenery, good camping and great organisation. Everyone, went home with a sence of achievement having navigated the 32 mile journey.
After arriving home on Sunday evening you were back at Uffculme School on the Monday to take a group of 10 of my year 8 tutor group caving in the Mendips. They were thrilled by the experience and can't wait to go again.
As my wife always says " you know you will be safe if Mike is with you."
Many thanks and looking forward to the next trip.

Three of us have just returned from an amazing long weekend on Lundy. Mike provided equipment and instruction for both kayaking and climbing on and around the island. The island was amazing, although choppy seas limited us to kayaking on the sheltered side of the island, and is a great place to stay. The Marisco Tavern is a lovely pub and there are some amazing walks / activities which filled the time between activities(we possibly got a little too addicted to letterboxing). Mike was great company, extremely well organised and a very reassuring presence in choppy seas and windy climbs. All in all a fabulous holiday - we're already thinking about a repeat (possibly kayaking over rather than taking the ferry)!

As a group of 4 teachers, a few of us may have had reservations about spending summer hols with 10 teenagers - but we all had an AMAZING time on Mike's Mont Blanc Tour in Summer 2009. Every day of the trip brings amazing views and different challenges. The organisation is excellent - and with no map reading skills whatsoever, even I learnt to make my way back to each campsite -all of which brought their own charms! Relaxation, stunning views and good facilities.

Steven has travelled throughout the world yet described this as the 'best trip ever' - We (sadly) still love to see the photos on a laptop loop!

Thanks, Mike - good luck with the next one, love Lynz and Steve xxx

Hi Mike
Thank you so much for the great trip to Mt Blanc! We had a fantastic time. The trip was really well organised. The scenery, camping and company was truly amazing! The children were good fun and a credit to the school. I feel they and the adults have gained so much from the whole experience.
We had a lot of positive comments about the trip from other groups as we toured around which was very encouraging. - Well done Mike for taking 22 under 16 year olds on an adventure like that!! The only thing now is that my younger daughter and husband are eager to go next year!! Good luck with that!!!!
Many thanks, Carole and Daniella

We have just got back from a brilliant day out with Mike and felt moved to leave a comment. Kayaking on the Exe in the morning then caving in the afternoon. Excitement, physical challenge and safety in perfect measure. My girlfriend summarised Mike's input by saying "..it was just like having your dad with you on a fairground ride". Enough said, thanks Mike.

The three of us had a great days introduction to sea kayaking. As others have testified, Mike is a patient, calm and confidence-inspiring instructor. He was very gracious when pointing out that my buoyancy aid was on the wrong way around and simply left the 'ribbing' to my two sons! We liked the fact that Mike clearly believes in 'learning by doing' as we were soon out on the sea in Torbay and playing follow-my-leader in amongst the rocks which was good fun. Mike gave us options throughout the day to help let us get the most out of the experience which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. All three of us later admitted to being tired after the day but in a very positive way. We also admitted that at times we were outside our comfort zones but with Mikes good instruction it was not an issue and certainly a really positive aspect of the day.
I can see that we'll be taking Mike up on the idea of a camping/kayaking weekend around the South Devon coast.

September 2008 was our third session with Mike and probably the best yet! We had intended to paddle from Totnes to Brixham, camping on the way, but the terrible weather put paid to that. In fact we nearly had to cancel the whole trip but fortunately Mike had a late September slot free and the weather turned.
We had three separate trips, Totnes down the Dart & back; the Salcombe estuary from North Sands to Kingsbridge & back; and Brixham across the bay towards Paignton & back. All were great, with the Salcombe trip probably the best as there was so much to see and it was a glorious day.
Mike inspires confidence and is very patient with novices; he also has a good line in banter, which this time included relentless mocking of my walker's compass as an essential bit of kayaking kit :+)
We will definitely be using Mike again and hope to hit on some good late Spring weather in 2009. We'd also like to do some skills training with him as eventually we would like to be able to do some day-paddling as a pair.
Enjoy your Himalayan trip Mike; hope to see you in 2009.

Just back from a great hiking trip to the Alps with Mike as our guide. Our aim was to get to a hut and stay which was a first for us. Mike rose to the challenge and took us on some great routes that gave us the challenges we were looking for. Fabulous scenery and plenty of climb.
Fantastic time, Mike is so easy to be around, and it's was just great not having to worry about getting lost! Big mistake - not staying for longer. Tip: take extra wine gums the keep the guide happy!
