Mike has been the abseil instructor for our last two fundraising events, abseiling Burlescombe Church’s 80’ tower. Thirty five abseilers successfully descended on Saturday, 21 May.

We cannot praise Mike’s instructing abilities highly enough. My sister, who hadn’t abseiled before, was absolutely terrified. The only reason she didn’t give up was due to Mike’s encouragement and patience. She was thrilled to have succeeded and said that it had been a huge personal achievement that she’ll never forget. Another abseiler, Diane, said she doesn’t normally like heights but enjoyed the abseil so much that she repeated it! “Mike just gave me the confidence to do it. It was fantastic” said Diane.

Not only is Mike a brilliant instructor, he is well organised, totally reliable and charming with it! Thanks very much, Mike. From the Friends of St Mary’s, Burlescombe.

Thank you Mike for taking charge of our amazing church abseil yesterday. 48 villagers with little or no experience abseiled 110ft from the parish church and all felt very safe in your very experienced hands! Even those of us who didnt think they could do it were encouraged by your calm but enthusiastic approach and everyone - even me succeeded.I would recommend this event as
an excellent fundraiser and would be happy to give a few tips to help you get started. I think we will have raised well over £2000. Thank you Mike very much.

Mike organised our Year 7 team building event this year. He worked with 190 students in tutor groups over four days. The event was extremely successful helping new students to the school bond with thier tutor groups and with their tutor. We are all delighted with the outcomes.

We have returned from an amazing trip to Mount kilimanjaro. Mike you have provided a profound opportunity that will stay with many of us for a very long time. Your leadership and reassurance that all things are possible has had a dramatic affect on many of our group and I look forward to joining you for an adventure again soon.

A big thank you from both Sue and I for the fun day spent kayaking with you. We had a good laugh and admired your patience with us! We both came away a bit achey but had such an enjoyable day and were both a little more skillful than when we started. Also, Sue kept her hair dry, always good!

Just returned frothe Haute Route- Chamonix to Zermatt. An excellent challenging walk. Mike Bradford was our leader. He inspires confidence and is very supportive when needed. He allows you your personal space but its always nice to know he is around and keeping an eye on you. I recommend the walk and leader wholeheartedly.

I must be a Mike Bradford groupie, having just finished the Haute Route and about to join him on Kilimanjaro . I had to join the Haute Route 3 days late. I worked out my own route to join the group. I took a wrong turning and had to bivouac at 2,600 metres. I contacted mike who gave me the confidence and reassurance over the mobile that I would be fine, but cold. Indeed I had never been colder, but he made it seem the right thing to do and was never angry with me for taking a wrong map reading. He is always calm and encourages.
